Patented GMI technology developed by FLUX sets new standards in position measurement, meeting future industry requirements.
Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Austria, FLUX and its engineers have more than 40 years of experience in designing and manufacturing position encoders based on well-known physical principles, such as optoelectronic, capacitive, and inductive ones. All these approaches, however, suffer from severe limitations in terms of encoder accuracy, repeatability, and resolution, which are crucial factors in the field of surgical robots.
Medical applications require special solutions – and it is precisely for these cases FLUX GmbH offers unique rotary and linear measuring systems with patented GMI technology to improve performance and usability of currently available market solutions.
The Giant Magneto Impedance (GMI) technology for position measurement capitalizes in an exceptional way the interaction between magnetic field and electromagnetic induction. It combines the hysteresis-free performance of an optical encoder with the robustness of an inductive encoder and the large mounting tolerance and working range of a magnetic encoder.
FLUX encoders impress with highest performance and precision. Lightweight and compact, they can be used wherever conventional encoders are not feasible.
