Resense GmbH has announced the latest milestone in the miniaturization of its product portfolio: the HEX8, the smallest 6-axis force/torque (F/T) sensor with an outer diameter of just 8.4 mm. This compact sensor is now available for purchase. Designed to meet the growing demand for small sensors, the HEX8 marks a significant step forward in sensor technology.
Key Features and Technical Specifications:
- Size: With a diameter as small as 8.4 mm, the sensor is the most compact of its kind, making it ideal for use in applications where space is limited.
- 6-Axis Measurement: The sensor measures forces and torques across six axes (x, y, z, and their corresponding rotational axes), providing comprehensive and precise data to ensure optimal performance in complex tasks.
- High Accuracy: Despite its small size, the HEX8 offers exceptional accuracy in force/torque measurements of less than 10mN (1g) ensuring reliable data for even the most sensitive applications.
Ready-to-Use and Ready-For-Future
First customers are now able to exclusively test the sensor (functional model) within their systems across a variety of applications. Resense is working closely with its German partner companies, WIKA and WITTENSTEIN, to bring the HEX8 sensor to full production readiness. This collaboration is focused on refining the sensor for mass production while ensuring its sterility and suitability for medical and industrial environments.
Both WIKA and WITTENSTEIN bring extensive experience in custom product development and manufacturing, with WIKA producing over 45 million sensors annually. The partnership between these companies and Resense forms a powerful joint venture, combining cutting-edge innovation with proven expertise in sensor manufacturing to advance the future of F/T sensor technology.
