meerecompany has announced that its surgical robot, Revo-i, has obtained medical device approval from the Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This approval follows its recent certification in Vietnam, further strengthening its position in the Southeast Asian surgical robotics market.

With a population of approximately 110 million, the Philippines is the second most populous country in Southeast Asia after Indonesia [i]. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) projects the country’s GDP growth rate to reach around 6% by 2025, reinforcing its status as a key economy with strong economic expansion [ii].

Notably, the Philippine medical device market has been expanding at an average annual rate of 8.8%, outpacing the country’s GDP growth [iii]. Given the government’s efforts to enhance medical infrastructure and its reliance on imported advanced medical devices, South Korean surgical robots are expected to gain a competitive edge in the market.

Ho Kun Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of Surgical Robot Division at meerecompany, stated, “With this approval in the Philippines, we plan to further accelerate our expansion into the Southeast Asian market. Revo-i continues to gain regulatory approvals across multiple countries, establishing itself as a globally trusted brand. We are also making efforts to increase sales.”

Meanwhile, Revo-i has been steadily building a strong track record both domestically and internationally, demonstrating its stability and excellence. Recently, it marked its first export to Paraguay, entering the Latin American market, and successfully obtained medical device approval in Vietnam, further advancing its global expansion.
