Background and Purpose – In 2013, Medicaroid was established as a joint company to develop and provide medical robot by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd., a leader in the industrial robot industry, and Sysmex Corporation, an experienced business player which has expertise in inspection and diagnosis along with a wide network in the medical field. Kaoru Asano, who has served as the Vice President of Medicaroid since its establishment and as the President since June 2020, is to be appointed as President of Sysmex Corporation on April 1, 2023. He will resign as the President of Medicaroid and will support its management as Vice Chairman of the Board. In addition, to enhance the management structure to promptly respond to the ever-changing unmet needs of the medical setting, we have decided to promote business execution with a new corporate structure.

The extra board meeting on March 16, 2023 informally appointed Koji Muneto as President and Seido Biwa as Vice President. Following the formal approval of the appointment of directors by the General Meeting of Shareholders on March 31, 2023, and the appointment of representative directors by resolution of the Board of Directors on April 1, 2023, Koji Muneto will become Board Director, CEO and President, and Seido Biwa will become Board Director, Senior Executive Officer and Vice President.

Change of Title
In June 2021, we introduced an executive officer system to separate the decision-making and supervisory functions of management by the Board Meeting from the execution of business operations by the Executive Officers.
In anticipation of the global business expansion in fiscal year of 2023, the title of “Member of the Managing Board” is to be changed to Senior Executive Officer.
