Interventional Systems and IJX Announce Partnership

Interventional Systems partnership

Interventional Systems has announced a partnership with IJX to develop cutting-edge OEM solutions in the Orthopedic Joint Surgery arena. This collaboration leverages Interventional Systems’ full-fledged miniature robotic platform and IJX mini-optical tracking technology to fully address the challenges of shoulder surgery.

Micromate™ is a table-mounted, modular, miniature, and easy-to-use stereotactic robotic platform. Approved for percutaneous procedures with 2D or 3D image guidance and needle or needle-type devices of compatible sizes, the system is cleared for a function rather than a specific indication, making it suitable for multiple medical disciplines. IJX offers a small footprint mini optical tracking for surgical navigation and robotics. Designed for portability, flexible positioning, and surgeon control, the IJX camera provides mini-optical tracking from within the sterile field.

The goal of this strategic partnership is to develop a robotic navigation system for total shoulder arthroplasty procedures that will address the constraints associated with usability and cost, aiming at fostering the adoption of a more precise and efficient way of conducting these procedures. The companies expect to partner with orthopedic implant manufacturers and sports medicine strategic partners to make this technology available for surgery centers and hospitals.

The companies announce the partnership ahead of AAOS and look forward to demonstrating the technology to strategic partners and KOLs over the next months.
