Harmonic Drive SE has announced that Thomas Berger will take over as its CEO from 01.03.2022. He succeeds Norimitsu Ito, who has been a member of the Harmonic Drive SE Executive Board since 2017. Mr. Ito will remain on the company’s Executive Board and will relocate, within the group, to Asia.
“Asian markets are on a strong growth path. To be able to influence important market decisions, we need top managers with international experience in Asia on site. This is the only way we can continue to expand our technological leadership and act globally in the future,” says Supervisory Board Chairman Gottfried Bertram, commenting on the company’s decision.
Explaining the company’s global orientation, Mr. Ito said, “Intelligent drive technology and all-in-one actuators open up new dimensions in mechanical engineering. Future-oriented drive technology must be efficient, intelligent and sustainable.”
“With our innovative products, we will add value globally to the digitisation of mechanical engineering. In my new role as CEO, I look forward to carrying the sustainable change and demanding transformation process of our technology company into the future,” concludes Berger.
