Development Process

Proposal & Concept Stages

Our process begins with a discovery meeting to understand your medical device and project needs. We frequently work with customers alongside their existing design or integration partners. At this stage, we align on your vision and begin to create a clear path towards manufacturing based on your needs, internal capabilities, budget, and timeline

Engineering & Prototype Stages

Next, our engineering team begins to create functional models to prepare your cart for manufacturing at our facility. During this stage our design engineers will prepare for manufacturing (DFM), create consistencies, and integrate their IEC-60601 expertise. At the end of this stage, our team will build a functioning prototype of your custom cart. 

Pilot, Improvement, and Revision Stages

These final stages allow the cart to run a pilot, while our engineers work with our production team to create efficiencies for continuous improvement. Finally, we make apply any remaining revisions and move towards production.

Founded in 1933, HUI Manufacturing is ISO 13485/9001 certified contract manufacturer that is headquartered in the Midwestern United States. HUI employs roughly 150 individuals to support the manufacturing needs of the industrial and medical carts markets.

HUI is equipped with a full-service manufacturing facility – offering end-to-end manufacturing capabilities and specializing in fabrication, powder-coating, assembly, quality, and logistics.

HUI Manufacturing offers small batch, low minimum purchase orders to help you launch your new product and allows you to scale production as demand for your device grows.
