Surgical Robotics Technology is proud to announce the winners of the Surgical Robotics Industry Awards 2025, recognising the exceptional contribution of individuals, organisations and technologies in the industry.

The 2025 Awards are in five categories: Industry Leadership, Innovative Start-up, Outstanding Company, Outstanding Healthcare Provider, and Groundbreaking Technology.

Category: Industry Leadership

Winner: Prof. Dr. Alex Mottrie – CEO of Orsi Academy

Prof. Dr. Alex Mottrie is a renowned urologist and CEO of Orsi Academy, Europe’s largest robotic surgery training center. Since 2002, Prof. Mottrie has performed over 6,000 robotic procedures, developing key techniques adopted globally. Under his leadership, Orsi Academy has become one of Europe’s largest robotic surgery training centers, collaborating with top universities like Ghent and Leuven. Through Orsi Innotech, a lot of basic work is done in Surgical AI. He received several lifetime achievement awards, amongst the EAU Innovators in Urology Awards 2025, EAU25 Madrid.

Winner: ForSight Robotics

Winner: Medtronic

Winner: MicroPort® MedBot™ – Toumai® Robot

The Toumai® Endoscopic Surgical Robot by MicroPort® MedBot™ is a minimally invasive surgical robotic system designed to enhance precision and reduce invasiveness in minimally invasive procedures. It features a four-arm robotic unit with seven degrees of freedom, tremor filtration, and wristed instruments, providing surgeons with  superior dexterity and stability. The system includes an ergonomic surgeon console, precision patient cart, and high resolution imaging vehicle.
