Fidelis Sustainability Distribution Awarded $45M Contract

In partnership with Synaptive Medical, the Medical Equipment ECAT contract is for Modus V™.

Veteran-owned company, Fidelis Sustainability Distribution, has secured a Medical Equipment ECAT contract with the Defense Logistics Agency valued at $45,000,000 USD over 5 years.

The ECAT contract is an online source (electronic catalog) for Robotic Assisted Surgery and other OR related products and acts as one of the preferred purchasing sources for the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare system. Fidelis Sustainability Distribution works in conjunction with Synaptive Medical, a leader in robotics, to provide ECAT customers with Synaptive’s Modus V™, a groundbreaking robotic digital microscope.

Modus V is a robotically controlled digital microscope that offers surgeons improved, informative visualization and ergonomics during procedures. The automated exoscope is attached to a robotically controlled arm and moves intuitively by tracking surgical instruments, while displaying high-quality images of the surgical field on a monitor. This modern approach to a conventional microscope is currently being used by cranial, spine, and ENT surgeons across the globe.

“Over the years, Fidelis has proven to be a valuable partner and allowing the purchase of Modus V to be simplified to our U.S. Government customers is just another example,” said Marc Buntaine, CEO of Synaptive Medical. “With a more streamlined acquisition, the utilization of our product will be faster to better serve our veterans.”

The ECAT System is a net-centric ordering, distribution, and payment system providing the DoD and more recently VA Healthcare facilities, access to multiple manufacturer and distributor commercial catalogs. ECAT has proven to be a successful acquisition strategy that allows customers to browse, compare, and order a wide range of pharmaceutical, laboratory, dental, optical fabrication, and medical/surgical equipment commercial items.

“We are passionate to serve those who’ve served this great country,” said Dustin Lee, president and veteran principal of Fidelis. “ECAT is one of the most efficient government procurement vehicles available. With the addition of Modus V and supporting technology from Synaptive, our end user physician customers will have access to the most innovative Neuro-Microscope on the market to care for our veteran brothers and sisters.”

Synaptive’s product offering also includes whole-brain tractography, navigation, and a 0.5T point-of-care MRI. The products are modular and designed for seamless integration both within the Synaptive suite and with other surgical products. Hospitals can purchase Synaptive offerings either individually or together to fully optimize the quality and delivery of their services.
