Overview

Flexxbotics is building a new class of manufacturing software that will transform how production workers and engineers interact with industrial collaborative robots and hardware to perform their jobs. Our engineering team is tasked with developing a flexible and customizable front end interface that connects to industrial robots, sensors, machines, and controls, while providing the infrastructure for factory wide data monitoring and process control capabilities. You will be an early member of the software engineering team looking to build this system from the ground up.

We’re looking for software professionals with both the creativity and the rigor needed to develop software that meets real-world requirements.

You will

  • Develop software for Flexxbotics product platform.
  • Execute on agile development methodologies and tools.
  • Execute design decisions on the architecture for implementation of a browser-based solution that requires interaction with hardware.
  • Actively contribute to writing, documenting, and testing code for the system.
  • Assist with the creation of in-house development tools and continuous integration infrastructure.
  • Contribute design documents that effectively describe what you plan to build.
  • Operate outside your area of direct expertise to solve hard problems with the rest of our cross-disciplinary team.

You have

  • 2+ years of experience developing software in a production environment.
  • An understanding of software development and architectural styles.
  • Full-stack development experience using JavaScript frameworks (React) and tools.
  • Experience developing in Java (Spring Boot) and / or Python frameworks.
  • Experience with on premise and cloud-based software solutions.
  • An interest in tackling the challenges involved with building a solution from the ground up.
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle.
  • An understanding of continuous integration utilizing cloud-based tools in AWS.
  • Ability to invent novel solutions to challenging technical problems.

Bonus points

  • Experience with robotics or other types of sensors and hardware.
  • Experience writing software for manufacturing execution systems.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Sierramotion is seeking a highly motivated individual for a position in our Engineering Group. Founded in 2019, Sierramotion is an electromechanical design and manufacturing company located in Loomis, California.

We are currently recruiting for the role of Senior Design Engineer, details on the job are below:-

General Description:

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer works with SolidWorks 3D CAD package creating drawings of parts or rotating machinery, primarily electric motors and high precision assemblies. The individual must follow design control guidelines and must be familiar with geometric and block tolerance methods. The job includes reviewing items designed by customers for accuracy and manufacturability as well as evaluating whether subcontractors can meet the technical aspects of the parts being fabricated. This position also includes direct design of motors, motor related parts, and a variety of mechanical assemblies.  This person will also be responsible for developing manufacturing processes, process instructions, and assisting the manufacturing group with product ramp.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience working with Solidworks.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years designing rotating machinery, including bearing selection and specifics of tolerances and fits of mechanical parts used in these applications.
  • Thermal and mechanical FEA software experience desired.
  • Machine design experience also preferred.
  • Preferred experience working in a manufacturing environment for mechanical assemblies.
  • Preferred basic knowledge of MRP systems and manufacturing systems and requirements for motors.
  • Preferred basic understanding of customer relations and interface.

Education:

  • Minimum of BS degree in engineering (mechanical or electrical) with specialization in mechanical design for rotating machinery.
  • Preferred additional professional training in design engineering related topics from outside sources such as universities, standards committees, industry related organizations, CAD software suppliers.

Candidates will have good problem-solving and analytical skills and be a team-player.  Must be able to communicate clearly as customer interaction will be a big portion of this role.  Team interaction is also important as cross-functional teams are assigned to projects.  The candidate must be able to operate in a very dynamic environment.  There are many projects going on in parallel and having a good sense of direction and priority is a must. This candidate will be responsible for complete project responsibility from design, prototype, schedule, and final validation.
