Surgical Robotics Technology
The KUKA Innovation Award 2022 primarily targets the interaction of robotic systems with humans in the medical application field. This includes applications with direct interaction with a patient for diagnosis, rehabilitation, surgery and other forms of therapy. Using a robotic system, we would like to encourage participants to improve our ability to monitor health and to prevent, detect, treat and manage disease and to test and demonstrate new models and tools for health and care delivery. In addition, we are targeting patient and elderly care and supporting activities such as handling and logistics in a hospital workflow.
You will have the opportunity to implement your concept with a lightweight robot LBR Med provided free of charge optionally enhanced with a Roboception 3D vision system and all additional products available in the Roboception web shop for the duration of the competition. You will be invited to Augsburg to receive an initial training on the hardware and will be continuously technically supported and coached by KUKA experts to be more effective in the implementation phase. At the finale, which will take place at MEDICA in November 2022, you will have the opportunity to present your application to the expert public, the judges and to KUKA management and senior developers and win €20,000 in the end.
