Terms & Conditions

1. This competition is promoted by Technology Online Group, 1010 Cambourne Business Park, Cambridge, England, CB23 6DP [‘TOG’].
2. This promotion is open to all persons except employees of TOG (or their subsidiaries or any affiliated companies) and their immediate families, who are not allowed to enter the competition.
3. You must be at least 18 years of age to enter this competition.
4. The competition will be in 2 parts – nominations and voting.
5. How to nominate and/or vote: Follow Surgical Robotics Technology on LinkedIn or another social media channel and follow the instructions.
6. Only nominations and/or votes made on-line, using TOG’s web-site will be considered.
7. The opening date for nominations is 24/04/2024. The closing date for nominations is 14/05/2024. No nominations received outside these dates will be accepted.
8. Nominations and votes will be in 5 categories as directed by TOG.
9. Nominees may make public announcements about their nomination in the competition at their discretion.
10. In each category, a short-list of 10 finalists in each category will be generated from those entities (individual, company, product etc.) with the most nominations counted on an electronic system.
11. Finalists will be notified by public announcement on social media.
12. Where we require more details from a finalist, TOG will contact them and if they do not provide these within 5 days of contact, we reserve the right to select a different finalist.
13. Finalists have the right to ask for their nomination to be withdrawn from the competition.
14. Public announcements may be made by finalists in the competition.
15. Finalists will be subject to a public vote via TOG’s website.
16. The opening date for votes is 28/05/2024. The closing date for votes is 11/06/2024. No votes received outside these dates will be accepted.
17. The winners in each category will be those registering the most number of votes on an electronic system.
18. Winners will be notified at least 10 days prior to public announcement.
19. Winners have the right to ask for their name to be withdrawn from the competition.
20. TOG reserves the right to select another winner if the original winner cannot be contacted within a reasonable timeframe or the winner places what TOG considers unnecessary constraints on publicity.
21. Where TOG requires details from a winner, if not provided within 5 days of notification TOG reserves the right to select a different winner.
22. Public announcements about the winners will be made by TOG via social media no later than 30 days from the close of voting.
23. Winners who make a public announcement before TOG shall be disqualified.
24. No purchase is necessary to nominate or vote.
25. Only one nomination per category and only one vote per category is allowed per person.
26. The prize is a trophy designed and presented by Technology Online Group.
27. 5 winners will be selected, 1 from each of 5 categories.
28. The prize is non-refundable and non-transferable. No guarantee is given as to the quality of the prize. No cash or prize alternatives are available.
29. All entrants are expected to act fairly and in the good spirit of the competition.
30. TOG reserves the right to investigate any irregularities and disqualify nominations, votes or finalists at its absolute discretion.
31. The prize will be delivered to the winner by TOG.
32. Any application containing incorrect, false or unreadable information will be rejected. Entrants may nominate or vote for themselves, their employee, their employer, their company, their supplier, their friend etc.
33. TOG’s decision as to who has won the competition shall be final.

35. The entry instructions are part of the Terms and Conditions for this competition.
36. By entering the competition you are agreeing to accept these Terms and Conditions. Any breach of these Terms and Conditions by you will mean that your entry will not be valid, and you will not be allowed to enter this competition.
37. By entering this competition you are agreeing that any information supplied by you may be used for the purpose of  :-
38. determining the short-list of nominations and/or the winners;
39. the purpose of and publicity of the competition by TOG and third-party award sponsor, without additional payment or permission;
40. electronic distribution of TOG newsletters or other marketing material to you.
41. any personal information you give us will be used solely by TOG and third party award sponsor, Novanta Inc., and will not be passed on to any other parties without your agreement.

45. Under no circumstances will TOG be responsible for any loss, damages, costs or expenses arising from or in any way connected with any errors, defects, interruptions, malfunctions or delays in the promotion of the competition or prize.
46. TOG will not be responsible unless required by law, for any loss, changes, costs or expenses, which may arise in connection with this competition and TOG can cancel or alter the competition at any stage.
47. Any dispute relating to the competition shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
