Dr. Francesco Sanguedolce, Department of Urology at Fundacio Puigvert, Autononous University of Barcelona was looking to create a simulation lab. He saw the importance of standardizing the training curricula at his university and the need for virtual reality in their residency and postgraduate training programs. He wanted a simulator that would replicate both the hardware and the software of the robotic Da Vinci console used in the operating room.
Because of this, Surgical Science’s RobotiX Mentor became an integral part of their undergraduate and residency programs where students learn to master robotic surgical techniques.
