Memic Innovative Surgery is a medical device company dedicated to transforming robotic surgery with the Hominis® Surgical System.
Hominis is the first and only surgical robotic platform that features miniature humanoid-shaped robotic arms that provide human-level dexterity, multi-planar flexibility and 360 degrees of articulation for various access configurations, making it ideal for minimally invasive procedures that, until now, have been off-limits to robot-assisted surgery. The small, compact and mobile design of Hominis also offers a minimal footprint and can be purchased at a significant cost advantage compared to other available robotic technology.
Hominis received FDA de novo marketing authorization in February 2021 for use in single site, natural orifice laparoscopic-assisted transvaginal benign surgical procedures, including benign hysterectomy.
Memic was founded in 2013 and is based in Tel Aviv, Israel with a wholly owned subsidiary in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Memic’s leadership team has more than 70 years of combined experience in the surgical robotics sector, including Dr. Maurice R. Ferré, co-founder of Mako Surgical Corp.
